It’s one thing to hire a photographer to shoot clients’ homes. But who do real estate agents trust to do the job when they’re selling their own home?
Joan Blossom, associate broker with Real Living CO Properties, put her home on the market recently. For photos, she called in her “favorite go-to guy,” John Koliopoulos, Mediamax master photographer.
She’s been using Mediamax since she got into the business a good 10 years ago. Other agents in her office recommended us and she’s been with us ever since.
To Blossom, professional photography is “part of being a full-service realtor.” It’s part and parcel of that “professional presence” she feels is so important in her marketing.
“That’s what I’m going to give to the seller,” she says, “and it makes a statement about me as a businesswoman.”
But what was it like for her to be the seller, with a photographer arriving to present her home to the world?
“He kept me grounded,” she admits, reminding her at one point of her role as a realtor and asking, “Joan, how important is it to shoot the mudroom?”
She very quickly decided to step back and let him do his thing.
“Because I knew I could trust him. I knew he was going to do what was right.”
Blossom likes it that she can count on John to give his best.
“He knows how to capture the character of the home, the things that stand out about a home and, you know, he’s patient and he gets the right shot, and I really appreciate that.”
John even shot Aerial photos, which Blossom likes for properties like hers with acreage and, in this case, a detached garage.
“I think he had a lot of fun with it and I had fun watching him and so did my husband. It’s really kind of cool to see how that can be incorporated into your photos.”
