Does the photographer really make a difference in the sale? Sandy Mazarakis, with LemonLime Group/Your Castle Real Estate, certainly feels that way about Senior Photographer John Koliopoulos.
“I do think he’s exceptional,” she says. “He helps sell the house.”
Her listing in the Harkness Heights neighborhood in west Denver offers a great example. Built in 1910, the front half of this “American Craftsman” 2-story features beautiful woodwork, doors and original fixtures but the back of the house, added in the mid-1960s, is pretty dated.
Here was a challenge even for an experienced photographer like John. But working with Mazarakis, he came up with a way to showcase the home’s best features. Here’s a sample:

“He was a great advisor on this. I love working with him,” Mazarakis says.
“He has the technical expertise. He can see a picture and make it look good. And you know that’s not so easy when you post things on the MLS. You have to have the right lighting – you just have to have it look good. You have to have it look professional, and he knows how to do that.”
She also appreciates his patience and his willingness to do whatever needs to be done to get the best shots.
“Now, it does help that we’re both Greek,” she quips. But it’s the sense of partnership that she values.
“He really is willing to be a partner and that’s not just technical expertise, that’s his ability to build a relationship.”
