Neutral But Not Boring: Adding Interest To Your Marketing Photos | Mediamax Photography | Photography, Video and Virtual Tours for Real Estate and Business

Recently, we published an article on keeping wall colors neutral in the properties that you are marketing, and encouraging sellers to see the property from the buyer’s perspective. This is definitely still the best way to sell a property, but may leave you wondering how to make your marketing photos stand out.

Inman recently published some cool ideas for adding color while keeping the wall colors neutral.  In this article “The top 20 home design trends of 2017”,  Marian McPherson highlights some great ideas for giving life to a room or space. The best part is that this can be done by incorporating other design elements that are not as permanent as changing the color of a wall.

One simple way to add color to the space and make your photos stand out is by using furniture and accents that are bold and bright, like in these photos taken by Mediamax photographers Ben Nelson and Nate Koerner.  Although the walls are neutral colors, the red and purple chairs add a bold color to the room and instantly draw viewers in.

Another popular trend this year is bringing the outside in by using plants and flowers to add colorful accents like in this photo below. These types of accents are easy to add and change, but introduce just the perfect amount of color to your listing photo.

Next time you’re looking for ways to brighten up a room and bring attention to your photos online, keep these less permanent solutions in mind. Potential buyers will surely appreciate the effort and design while knowing they can easily change something they don’t like when they move in.
