It’s a tale of two houses: why Jan Mueller gets photos by Mediamax | Mediamax Photography | Photography, Video and Virtual Tours for Real Estate and Business

In her 30+ years in the business, Jan Mueller has seen up markets and down, but never a market moving quite as fast as this.

A listing Mediamax photographed for her recently went under contract in two days. It wasn’t a large house and a bit “sparse” but the photos, shot by Senior Photographer Mark May, captured its “bright and light” spaces and her sellers were especially pleased.

“`Our photos really looked awesome,’” they told her.

But in a tale of two houses, the house her sellers bought went for a deal. In this market? How?

Mueller chalks it up to poor photos. Her sellers got the deal because the photos, shot on a cell phone, “didn’t show the house off well at all and nobody looked at it and it was on the market for months.”

When somebody gets a deal, somebody else’s sellers come up short. A cautionary tale, for sure.

Mueller isn’t one who’s tempted to DIY or skip the photos.

“Good photography is dollars in your pocket,” she says. “Good staging, good photography is dollars in the pocket for the seller and that’s what our job is.”

Mueller, with The Mueller & Mooney Group, RE/MAX Masters Millenium, is a longtime Mediamax client.

“I really like the quality of the photographs and the photographers.”

She likes working with people she knows – her preferred is Master Photographer Andy Gould – instead of having somebody different every time.

“They make properties show their absolute best.”
